The Cst. Brett Ryan Play It Forward Foundation Grant supports organizations and programs that expand access to sport and physical activity for underrepresented and disadvantaged youth. Our goal is to promote inclusive, equitable sporting opportunities for youth living in Greater Edmonton and Parkland County.

The Play it Forward Grant will prioritize applications for programs for underrepresented and disadvantaged youth. Should there be funding available for general youth programs, they may be considered.
For the purposes of this grant, underrepresented and disadvantaged youth are those who face systemic, financial, social, or geographic barriers to participation in sport or physical activity. This may include, but is not limited to:

Applications are submitted through the Play It Forward Grant Application Form below and are accepted throughout the year.
Applications are reviewed by the Play It Forward Grant Selection Committee, with successful applicants notified by email within 8 weeks of application.
Applications will be assessed using the following criteria:
Successful applicants must submit a final spending report, including receipts and a description of how funds were used, within 60 days of expenditure.

Grant amounts vary each year depending on funds raised and applicant needs.
Applications may be declined if they are incomplete, submitted late, do not demonstrate financial or community need, request funding beyond the Foundation’s capacity, or do not align with the Foundation’s mission of inclusion and accessibility in youth sport.
